10 tips to prepare for the holiday season...

Updated: Apr 19, 2020

It's already Dec 1st so, let’s jump right in!

  1. TAKE CARE OF YOURESELF TOO! During the holidays, we tend to over work ourselves for others! It’s a fabulous feeling to make others happy and know that you can positively affect the lives of others. BALANCE IS KEY. Maybe what you need is an afternoon alone, a warm bath or even a fulfilling workout…it’ll help you help others!

  2. MAKE REALISTIC GOALS AND SET REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS FOR YOURSELF. Some of us get carried away on how perfect we want and expect things to be during the Holidays, and that’s ok! Remind yourself about why the holiday season is important to you and the ones you love and how spending the day with them can be more valuable than exhausting your mind and body in preparation for the event.

  3. DON’T BREAK THE BANK. This is a common dilemma for most. Remember to plan out your finances so that you aren't creating stress for yourself, post-holiday season.

  4. MODERATION MODERATION MODERATION. In food, in gifts, in financial burden, in emotions. EVERYTHING IN MODERATION.

  5. FEELING GUILTY ISN’T AN OPTION. There is no need to feel guilty about not being able to make an event, prepare a dish or spending X amount of money. You are good enough no matter what!

  6. YOU CAN ASK FOR HELP. We all know this person! Ask for help – it can only make your life easier!

  7. NUTRITIOUS FOODS IN DISGUISE. We don’t need to break our routines of healthy eating during the holiday season. Although, that’s always a fair option. Try and opt for balanced food & dessert options when possible, and save your favorite indulgences as a treat - it makes them taste that much better!!

  8. CHOOSE YOUR ENGAGEMENTS. You do not need to be everywhere. You do not need to bake or cook for all events. You do not need to tire yourself. You do you. Do what you are able and only commit to what you know you can commit to EASILY, so that when you accomplish those, you are still ready to HAVE FUN!

  9. SAYING "NO" IS THE NEW BLACK ;) Yes. Seriously. Try it!

  10. IT’S OKAY TO TREAT YOURSELF! Have that piece of cake, book yourself in for a massage, get your nails done, have a hockey night with friends! It’s okay to indulge in relaxation and release activities. Remember your true purpose: your passion and health won't change if you TREAT yourself.

Cheers and Happy Holidays!
